Fire & Safety Australia can provide your workplace with onsite emergency response teams. Our highly trained personnel can be provided to your site for a day or months at a time.
Our personnel are experts at safely managing high risk work. We can provide a team with all equipment on any day of the year
Picture: In October and November 2009, Fire & Safety Australia assisted in providing a Confined Space Rescue Team onboard the Crystal Ocean in dry dock in Morningside, Brisbane. Our team was responsible for: Confined Space Permit Holding, completing rescue plans of confined space work, performing emergency response exercises and being on standby for any possibly confined space emergency.
Our team were all Vertical Rescue / Confined Space Rescue & Occupational First Aid Trained. We also supplied a qualified paramedic for the first week of the job.
Our team was on-site for 4 weeks and worked 12 hour shifts. We partnered for this job with our alliance partner Pinnacle Height Safety. The job was well managed and no emergencies occurred through our joint safety watch.
Our personnel are all ex or current emergency services personnel. Our workforce core skills/training includes:
- Vertical Rescue Training/ Response
- Confined Space Rescue Training/ Response
- Rope Access Work
- Medical Support/ Response from Occupational First Aid to Paramedic Level (Including Medications, Oxygen, Defibrillator, Entonox, IV, Injections and similar)
- Height Safety Risk Assessment / Response
- Fire fighting Training Response
- HAZMAT Training/ Response
- Road Accident Rescue Training/ Response
- Technical Rescue Training/ Response
- Bushfire Prevention / Fire fighting
- Pump Operation Training/ Response
Our personnel can supply all rescue equipment as we have equipment ready to go at short notice in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Our team complete regular refresher training and emergency response exercises at our facilities to prepare for high risk work.

Many of our Emergency Response Personnel are full-time lecturers in Fire, Safety, Rescue & First Aid Training Courses. Our personnel are available to act as Safety Officers, Permit Holders and Liaison Officers for your organisation.
Picture: Recent Confined Space Rescue Drills completed by 1 of our ERT members Greg Beirne. Greg is a retired NSW Ambulance Officer with Vertical Rescue, Road Accident Rescue, Confined Space Rescue and Paramedic Qualifications.
Greg was recently part of the Emergency Response Team onboard the Crystal Ocean. Greg participated for 7 days and was a key member in emergency response planning and emergency response procedure development.
Our personnel can be flown to your location, anywhere across Australia to perform high risk emergency response work. Often used during shutdowns, our personnel are all experienced fire services personnel who can perform all emergency response functions.
Picture: Our core skills include Vertical Rescue Techniques and ‘pick off’ rescues for high risk work. Our personnel are all Vertical Rescue qualified and can supply high quality Rope Rescue equipment to any site across Australia.
Our teams can also be engaged on a long term basis at your mine site or industrial site. Our teams specialise in ‘ground up’ operations. We can supply all equipment, procedures and advice to get your organisation from zero to a fully equipped emergency response team within weeks.

Picture: In early 2009 we supplied a 2 person Confined Space Standby / Rescue Team on-site at the Tru Energy Gas Plant in Portland, VIC.
Our team held the confined space entry permits, supervised the work and was on-site for 3 days to ensure that all work was completed safely and according to Tru Energy safety procedures.
