Fire Safety Advisor Training Course (QLD Only) Outline:

Fire and Safety Australia's Fire Safety Advisor Training course will equip your personnel with the skills required to act as a fire safety advisor during day to day matters and also during an on-site emergency. By choosing and selecting a fire safety advisor and conducting regular fire safety advisor training, regular warden training and annual emergency evacuation drills, your organisation will ensure that your personnel are ready to deal with any workplace emergency.

Our Fire Safety Advisor Training Course is designed to teach learners how to act as a Fire Safety Advisor in Queensland as required in the Building Fire safety Regulations 2008 QLD and amendments in 2009 and 2010. Having a fire safety advisor is mandatory in QLD if you meet the requirements below.

(*High Occupancy Building - 30 or more employees, a Class 2 or 3 building that is more than 25m in height, a Class 4 building and an at risk licensed premises as nominated by the Commissioner)

The QLD Fire Safety Adviser has a responsibility to:

  • Be familiar with all aspects of building fire safety;
  • Provide advice to the occupier to ensure that appropriate emergency planning has taken place; and
  • Provide advice to the occupier to ensure that appropriate instruction is carried out at the prescribed times and intervals.

This program is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to assume the role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Adviser.

During the fire safety advisor training course we will cover the duties of a fire safety advisor in day to day and emergency situations. Fire Safety advisor training is only conducted by experience emergency services personnel. Our fire safety advisor trainers have both the qualifications and the relevant industry emergency services experience to walk you through the requirements of acting as a fire safety advisor.

Fire and Safety Australia regularly teaches on-site Fire Safety Advisor Training Courses throughout Australia (we taught over 11,000 people in 2010!). Our Fire Safety Advisor trainers travel across Australia (trainers based in every State and Territory) to conduct Fire Safety Advisor training courses.

Our Fire Safety Advisor training courses are nationally recognised training courses and are taught through the Public Safety Training Package. Learners whom are assessed competent will receive a statement of attainment in PUAWER005B Operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation (Fire Warden) and PUAWER006B Lead an Emergency Control Organisation (Chief Fire Warden).

We currently teach some of Australia's largest companies Chief Fire Warden Training throughout Australia including organisation like Spotlight, Bunning's, Harris Scarfe, Virgin Tech, MCC, Ingham Enterprises, BlueScope Steel and many more.

Our Fire Safety Advisor training courses are a combination of both practical training and theoretical training in how to safely prepare personnel for evacuation, how to ensure fire safety and fire compliance day to day, how to safely evacuate your workplace, how to control the emergency, how to brief other wardens and the emergency services and how to coordinate the entire emergency response.

For your personnel to safely evacuate during an emergency and for all of your building occupants to have the greatest chance of survivability – you should nominate a sufficient someone to act as a fire safety advisor for the organisation. The Fire Safety Advisor should be put through our nationally recognised Fire Safety Advisor training course to give them the skills and the confidence required to control any emergency at your workplace.

Our Fire Safety Advisor training courses are taught in accordance with Australian Standard 3745-2010 and QLD Fire Regulations 2008 This standard includes all of the relevant information to ensure that your organisation is compliant with all aspects of emergency management which include the provision of Fire Safety Advisor's and the provision of regular Fire Safety Advisor training.

Prior to your Fire Safety Advisor training course occurring, we will normally request a copy of your fire and evacuation procedures. By having a copy of your fire evacuation procedures before we conduct fire warden training, our trainers are able to customize and tailor the Fire Safety Advisor training course directly to your requirements.
