Our Experience With CITC

Fast Facts

Over 20 courses run successfully in 18 months for Tower Rescue Training, Confined Space Training and Height Safety Training.

  • CITB Funding available for participants through CITC
  • Modern height safety training techniques taught to ensure construction crews work safely at heights across SA
  • 2013 forecasts over 200+ learners will be trained through CITC and FSA’s partnership

Fire and safety Australia has been contracted to CITC for over 2 years in South Australia. Beginning by conducting Confined Space Entry Training and Breathing Apparatus Training. FSA now undertakes Tower Rescue Training and Vertical Rescue training for CITC.

Participants have the benefit of year-round undercover training areas, where we focus on the basic “pick-off ” rescue, peer rescue with a Pole/gotcha style rescue kit, as well as basic rappelling and descending skills. There are both high platform areas and an internal tower. Participants can bring their own kits as required for advice by our instructors, or utilize our kit, featuring 4 different models of Rescue Harness.

The FSA/CITC Vertical Rescue Training course can be run over 4-5 days as required by CITC or their construction partners. Trainees have been trained from Tower Cranes, Oil Derricks, Communications Towers and Wind Farms. Our partnership with CITC enables the construction sector in SA to have the best access to rope rescue and retrieval training.
